Our Chuck Pelly was excited to be invited on a panel sponsored by AIGA and UX Speakeasy for the Rams: A Documentary Portrait of Dieter Rams event in Balboa Park.
The panel was dedicated to the importance and relevance of a documentary film on Dieter Ram, a very important industrial designer who established many of the guidelines the used in design today. Chuck was quite involved in this part of history in Germany in the post Bauhaus time, because of his involvement with BMW, Siemens and Grammar
Of special interest is the common ties with present day design that were so clearly establishes over 100 years ago. The takeaway was the importance of understanding history and the great designers that set the stage for our present goals of living our lives with better, more beautiful and appropriate products and environments.
